Where every dancer starts
A Saturday morning workshop for anyone new to Irish dance, ages 5 and up, and adults.
We teach a first reel in socks, show how a class runs and answer questions about shoes, levels and the feis. Families are welcome to stay and watch. The workshop is followed by a placement visit, where you dance in the class that seems to fit.
Saturday mornings, about an hour
Classes of up to 14 dancers
Socks are fine

A class
A relaxed hour, with no one dancing alone.
We learn each other's names and talk about what brought you here.
Posture and the basic stance, taught slowly and in pairs.
Four simple steps, counted aloud and then danced to music.
Everyone crosses the hall in a line, a few dancers at a time.
Shoes, levels, schedules and the feis, answered by the teacher.
Good to know
Leggings or shorts, a fitted top and clean socks. Hair tied back. No shoes needed and no jewelry.
The workshop runs about an hour. Classes of up to 14 dancers, with two teachers in the hall.
Everyone starts at first steps. At the placement visit the teacher decides the first class, and you move up when your teacher says.
