Family policies

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.

Parents are welcome to wait in the hall's lobby, and to watch the last class of each month from the bench along the wall. At the spring showcase, families sit in the hall; the program says when you may take your own photos and video, and we ask everyone to follow it.

For the first weeks, wear leggings or shorts that let you move, a fitted top and clean socks, with hair tied back. Soft shoes are ordered with you once a dancer has a level. Hard shoes come later, when your teacher says so. Please leave jewelry at home.

Please keep a dancer home with a fever, a stomach bug or anything that spreads, and for a full day after they feel better. Send a message so the teacher knows, and we will make the class up when you are back.

The hall's door opens fifteen minutes before the first class. Younger dancers are handed to a parent or a person you have told us about, and we ask for ID from anyone we do not know. Older dancers may leave on their own only if you have told us in writing.

Send a message by text or the parent portal if a dancer will miss a class or arrive late. If a dancer arrives after the warm-up, the teacher decides whether to join in or watch the first steps.

We close for school vacation weeks, Thanksgiving week and the major holidays. For snow or a storm we message every family and post on the parent portal by mid-afternoon, and a class that is cancelled is made up in the same session.
